Brittani was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease at seven years of age, and although her journey has been challenging, she has never given up on living her life to the fullest. Brittani grew up on the surf haven Tweed Coast of Australia, where she began surfing at the age of twelve.
In 2011 Brittani became a National Ambassador for Crohn’s & Colitis Australia. Brittani has not only shared her story with people she has met along the way, she has spoken at Parliament House, various charity events, luncheons and youth camps. Brittani is one of the faces of the #LiveFearless National Ad Campaign run by Crohn’s & Colitis Australia, aimed at creating awareness and encouraging people to live fearlessly throughout life.
Brittani hopes to give people a better understanding of this often invisible disease, while also promoting the importance of a healthy lifestyle and positive mindset. Brittani has a contagious smile and loves to help others, with the aim of inspiring other people who may be going through difficult times.
Brittani has travelled the globe competing on the world stage in surfing events, all while spreading awareness of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). More recently, Brittani represented Team Australia in the ISA World Surfing Games in 2016 and 2017.
Ongoing health issues have forced Brittani to take a step back from competitive surfing, however, she is still involved within the industry. Brittani was recently part of the commentary team for the QS6000 Port Stephens Toyota Pro, and went above and beyond in her role as Team Manager for the NSW Junior Surfing Team at the Australian Junior Surfing Titles. Brittani will continue to work more in this field, while also studying Digital Media and Communications.
